Music theory

Music Theory Lessons, Bedford.

Music theory lessons are a great way to improve your understanding of your instrument. Whether you’re an adult looking to improve your understanding of music in general, or a parent who has a child who’s keen to learn, music theory will help to develop confidence, understanding, and sensitivity.

Why should I learn music theory?

Although a lot of guitarists play by ear (which is a great skill to have) you’ll become a much better all-round musician, the more knowledge you have about music, including theory, the easier learning, writing and playing music becomes.

Do I have to take the exam?

It depends on what it is you’d like to do. If you’re not particularly fussed about taking an exam but still wish to learn, the same process of learning still applies. We can split an hours lesson 50/50, so for half an hour you’ll be playing the guitar and for the other half music theory.
